All the October Excitement!

October has been an exciting month here at Wheatland Farm! On October 5, we hosted our annual 2024 Wheatland Farm Gala Dinner. In the days leading up to the event, parents, volunteers, students, and staff worked tirelessly to prepare the farm, ensuring everything was in perfect order for this fantastic occasion. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and on a sunny Saturday, nearly 200 guests gathered, dressed in their finest, to celebrate our students and raise much-needed funds for our programs.

It was a wonderful evening filled with generosity and fellowship, and we're thrilled to share that photos of the event are now available on our website: 2024 Gala Photos. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors for making the night possible, and to our devoted students and their families for donating such magnificent items for our silent auction.

No sooner had we wrapped up the gala than we began preparing to welcome our esteemed guest, Coach Michel Assouline, the U.S. Head Coach and Chef d'Equipe for Para Dressage. Considered the most successful para dressage coach in the world, Coach Assouline has been instrumental in guiding the U.S. Para Dressage Team to an impressive seven gold medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games. His unparalleled expertise and personalized training approach have helped countless athletes achieve their full potential.

We are honored to host Coach Assouline for a two-day symposium this weekend, October 19 and 20, at Wheatland Farm. The symposium will feature coaches and athletes from our own Center of Excellence alongside those from Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Pennsylvania. The event will provide a unique opportunity for athletes to receive direct coaching from Coach Assouline, and for instructors to learn from his mentorship. Auditors are welcome! For more details on the event schedule and location, please check out our symposium details in the flyer, attached.

As we continue with our fall activities, in November, we’re introducing a new series of fun, unmounted classes open to both our students and the public. One of the highlights will be a three-part series called "Are You Ready? A Guide to Buying and Owning Your Own Horse," conducted by Wheatland Farm’s very own Coach Anthony Forrest. We will also be offering schooling dressage and jumper shows for both students, and our community riders.

Unmounted classes will take place in our cozy Coffee Shop. Registration for this series, as well as for our upcoming dressage and jumper schooling shows, will be available through STRIDERPRO—just search "Wheatland Farm."

With so much still to look forward to before the end of the year, we invite you to join us for one—or all—of our offerings! As always, we are here to answer any questions by phone at (703) 574-0511 or by email at wheatlandfarmsecretary@gmail.com. We hope to see you soon!
